100 Mile 17-week training Plan

Follow Alan as he aims to complete his first 100 mile Ultra on 15th November 2024 at Escape from Meridan

Below is his Plan to take him up to Rat Race Sea to Summit Ultra in September

after this the aim is to complete Weeks 12th and 19th August alternativley

Week 1

Tuesday Ran a total of 9 miles instead of 4, this is because I rested on Wednesday, Thursday did the helps which I hated (covered 3 miles) due to commitments on Saturday I did 5 miles on the Friday, Sunday completed the 14 miler,

Total Miles for the Week 31 Miles with a total time on feet- 5 hour 51 min 

*Also did 11 miles of walking in the week 

Week 2

Tuesday did 8 miles at a steady pace instead of 4/5, then followed this up Thursday with some hill climbs on a steeper hill than week before and managed a total of 2 miles in under 20 mins - the heart rate was hitting 155+ too so felt very good, however come Friday I woke up with a niggle in my left ankle and this carried through to Saturday so did not run on Saturday, Sunday though I needed the run and so went out for 16 miles, felt good up till mile 13 and then I just lost all energy, I'm putting it down to nutrition, I had a BBQ on Saturday so didn't eat right and then only took water with me Sunday rather than the usual BLDR drink I use.

Total Miles for the Week 26 Miles with a total time on feet - 4 hour 55 min

*Also did 13.5 miles of walking in the week
