HYROX London Sets New Record: The World’s Largest Fitness Racing Event
HYROX, the global leader in fitness racing, is making history this December with its biggest event ever at London ExCeL. Over 40,000 athletes—from first-time competitors to elite performers—will take on the challenge, marking a monumental leap from the very first UK race in Birmingham back in 2017, which hosted just 700 participants.
What’s New This Year?
This year introduces a groundbreaking innovation: a one-lap circular run course inside the 40,664 m² ExCeL venue. Designed for maximum flow, improved spectator visibility, and heightened racing intensity, this new format ensures an unforgettable experience for both athletes and fans.
With an expected audience of 30,000 spectators, HYROX London isn’t just a race—it’s a fitness festival. The surge in popularity reflects the growing global enthusiasm for competitive fitness, now recognized as the newest discipline under the World Triathlon Federation.
HYROX by the Numbers
- 1,700 affiliated gyms in the UK
- 11,000+ affiliated gyms worldwide
- 85+ cities across 30 countries
- 1.3 million participants expected by the end of the 2025/26 season
From its humble beginnings to becoming a worldwide phenomenon, HYROX continues to grow at an astonishing 100% year-on-year rate, cementing its position at the heart of the fitness racing movement.
Looking Ahead
HYROX will return to London in March 2026 at the iconic Olympia for the inaugural HYROX London Week of Fitness. This week-long celebration will feature:
- A full slate of HYROX racing events
- The first-ever Coaches Summit, connecting and elevating the global HYROX coaching community
- HYROX Youngstars, spotlighting the next generation of athletes with youth-focused fitness experiences
